The student's strength is mostly defining the reputation of the college and also there are 2,961 students pursuing the engineering degree at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar. In that, 76.22 % of boys are there and 23.78 of girls are there. The students are pursuing their wanted degree course from inside the state, outside the state, and outside the country. Currently, the institution has 1,434 students from inside the state, 1,524 students from outside the state, and 3 students from outside the country.
