NIT Calicut admits a total of 4739 candidates from all departmental streams within the management institution, among whom 77.95% are male students. wherein the remaining 22.05% of them constitute female students.

 Apart from that, to elaborate much further in detail, around 2144 engineering students have been admitted within the state, whereas 2562 of them have been admitted outside the state or the respective union territories. 

 33 international students have been admitted to the college campus, and 864 economically backward students and 2345 socially challenged students have been admitted, respectively, in mere regard to the student population.
